This YOUniverse kit grows crystals on wearable stems rather than in a dish. Children aged 8+ create pendants, hairpins and rings decorated with moons, stars, hearts and unicorns by growing crystals directly onto the accessory blanks. The kit includes colored dyes and elastic to customize finished pieces.
The process demonstrates crystallization, evaporation and basic chemistry. An educational poster about crystal formation is included. Adult supervision is recommended when handling water at the required temperature. Once crystals set, the jewelry is ready to wear or display.
