Spike is a soft rubber hedgehog with 8 removable quills in different colours. Designed for ages 18 months and up, it teaches fine motor control through the repetitive action of pulling quills out and pushing them back into numbered holes on the hedgehog's back. The quills are textured for grip and the holes are numbered 1–8, supporting number and colour recognition as children play.
The hedgehog body doubles as storage for the quills, keeping pieces together when not in use. It suits independent play or guided learning in Montessori settings.
